Class Description:

INFANT CLASSES
Each session is made up of two half hour classes, half hour drama and half hour street dance. In this time the children learn to develop their characterisation and imagination skills. We work with the children to use their emotions and help develop their confidence from a young age. Opening them up to the exciting world of make believe and showing them anything is possible! In street dance we teach them funky fun routines to their favorite well known songs and help them with their flexibility and coordination not to mention having a great time boogieing and having lots of fun with out loveable staff.

DANCE

We teach them all the foundations of dance working on turns, tricks, big jumps, partner work and funky steps they so often see on TV. Our routines are styled in street dance and commercial hip hop, using the latest songs they hear on the radio. (Opportunities given in IDTA Exams, Competitions and Shows.)

DRAMA

We work on several different acting and improvisation skills that will encourage and build imagination, confidence and concentration. We encourage voice projection and work on diction making the children confident to produce solo and group work to large audiences. Not to mention fun games and generally having a great laugh!

Title of Class: The Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts
Class Description:

The Pauline Quirke Academy is a weekend performing arts school for 4 – 18 year olds – and they are enrolling now for Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge!

Students spend three hours with us, rotating through hour long sessions in Comedy and Drama, Musical Theatre and Film and Television.
Students are split into groups according to their age and are taught by specialist teachers.

PQA’s core modules teach a comprehensive range of skills, which are useful for everyday life, not just a career in the performing arts, whilst masterclasses allow students to experience more specialist lessons in areas like stage combat, beat boxing, street dance and magic.

As well as many in-house productions and showcases there are two stand-out highlights for all PQA students.  The first is the chance to see their short film projects on the big screen of their local cinema, where they get to walk down the red-carpet just like the Hollywood stars.  Some of these films even get selected for the Empire Cinemas/ PQA Film Festival, where winning films are shown on the big screen at the Empire Leicester Square in a glamorous event students and parents will never forget!  The second is the chance to take part in one of the annual PQA shows in the West End.

PQA believe in rewarding and inspiring their students, so along with regular reports to monitortheir progress, all students are offered group exams through Trinity College London – at no additional charge to parents.
